Using the results
Pick a city, or search for a word like “playground” or “patio”. Each row gives the rule, the bylaw it comes from, a link to the official page and the date we checked it. A distance is measured from the places the rule names, not from every building.
Coverage and gaps
The database covers eleven cities so far: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Halifax, Charlottetown, Kelowna and Yellowknife. For Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Montreal the official city pages did not load on the review date, and for Regina we could confirm only the parks rule and a link to the city’s Smoking Bylaw page. We do not publish figures from search summaries or news reports, so those cities stay blank until we have read an official page.
